Aint it kind of funny how time slips away ♫♫

My, where does the time go?  Busy, Busy!  I have been working part time and enjoying that.  I am so busy with church activities, gardening in the nice weather and now 'tis winter in full swing!  Here are some photos to bring you up to date since my last post. While playing basketball with my boy friend John and his neice and nephew, I broke my finger.  But I actually have improved my bone density from doing this (weight bearing exercise) and no longer take meds for my bones!  Hurray!

John and I planted a little raised garden between our houses on his side of the hedge that yielded onions, carrots, leaf lettuce, and kale.  It was great fun and John's first garden.

Below is my backyard flower garden with antique hand plow.

We spent many days and evenings at OYC on the lake and had another wonderful summer of swimming, sailing, listening to bands, friends and awesome sunsets....

Above, my pumpkin vine with a blossom as large as a dinner platter!

And then the most beautiful carpet of yellow Autumn leaves I have ever seen in the backyard...

And then came the snow....

And it was time to trim the little tree again with all my handmade ornaments of  yore.  A Santa from a flame bulb, a vintage card print in plastic packaging and below a cute little Caroler I painted on a Cat's Paw Shell.

I love them all and they bring back so many memories of Christmas past.

May you have a most blessed New Year and thanks for coming.  Ya'll come back soon!

Frost on the Pumpkin

There were some nights this last week that indeed brought frost in the pumpkin, the lawn, the roof-tops, just a reminder that winter is very near...
But meantime,  I am just enjoying the rustling of leaves underfoot, the rich colors of Autumn and little ones who came in costumes to my door.
Yesterday I took a ride to the cemetery where several members of my family are buried.  It was a beautiful sunny fall day with lots of wind.  I stopped to take photos of field corn in the field...
I love the color of the dried corn stalks and remember my Mom making dolls from corn husks...

I visited my friend in the country as I do each Thursday.  Though bound to a wheelchair from stroke, she still smiles and laughs. She amazes me that she can manage to get on a riding mower and cuts the extensive lawn around her house!  She is alone except for night time, too.  I try to bring her different suppers to eat and she is always so appreciative.
And though temperatures may be dropping, the sun makes my little sunporch cozy and warm.  Lilly loves snoozing there in the sun spots.

Trying new things at church, practicing a song with Pastor and his daughter to sing one day at service.  He is learning to play banjo and I play my guitar.  Right now we sound like a weak Bluegrass trio but it is fun and we will improve!

SURE SIGN OF FALL, THE MALLARDS

I LOVE THE FALL WHEN THE MALLARDS FREQUENT THE POND IN BACK OF OUR HOUSE.  THEYcome in the spring to court and woo and to raise their young and then they come in the fall with their lifetime mates and others because they are not in competition at this time of year.  Two male and two female have been visiting every day now.  My hubby puts a little bird seed on the ground near the pond and they come to get it.  If I see them, I also yell, "Hi babies!" and they come up to the window for a little handout of bread cubes.  I just love seeing them up close and personal.  The feathers are beautiful and divinely designed.  Thanking the Lord for all his beautiful creatures!

Hoping your Monday was anything but Blue!  Come by again soon, you know I love company!

FEATHERS IN THE WIND...

Just Loving all the Changes of Fall!
A lovely orangey leaf floating in the water along side a Swan feather...
And Pampas Grass swaying in the wind.....

And my Favorite of Swan down caught on a twig and blowing in the wind...

And Lizzard warming in the sun of the back step.

Everywhere we look there is a postcard picture!  Love it.  I love raking leaves, crazy, huh? Ha!  It is one of the things that we did as kids that we can still enjoy.  Like drinking real Kool-ade with tons of real sugar in it-ha!
And hot cocoa after a crisp Fall evening walk.
Hope you started off your week with a lovely Monday, thanks for visiting and come again soon!

Loving the onset of Fall!

Just loving the cool mornings and even cooler evenings of the Fall season!  We can open the windows in the mornings and we can use a quilt to sleep at night-what more could we ask for!  Some leaves are beginning to fall and the Autumn colors are kissing the earth with golden tones!  And thus a poem is born......

Basking in Summer's afterglow
Autumn approaches ever so slow
Kissing the earth with golden tones
And scenting the air with evergreen cones.

Bass are still jumpin' in the little pond
Catching dragonflies all around.
The Mums are blooming red and gold
And the morning air is almost cold.

Leaves are turning yellow and red
Adorning the lawn and flowerbed.
The days are shortening hour by hour
The sunsets richer but shorter by far.

Such a warm and colorful time of the year
A last splash of color before Winter drear
A welcome sight to one and all
Loving the changes that come with Fall!

Mama Squirrel at our campsite last weekend.
See http://kerrieskorner.blogspot.com/ to read about our camping trip and more pictures.
The woods are still full of beautiful wildflowers, just love this picture hubby took of a flower on a trailing vine...

This massive cluster of berries was on the walking trail.  The clusters were as large as basketballs!  I could not identify what they were.

We always request this spot right across from the lake.  We can look out of our door and kitchen window and see it.  So peaceful and serene.

Thanks for stopping by and do come again soon.  Don't forget to visit my other blogs, the links are in the sidebar and also my Etsy Shop where I am starting to post fall decor that is homemade as well as all the other gifts and things on my site.  Link is http://etsy.com/shop/ohearn67

The Warmth of Fall.........

Even when it is overcast the colors of fall brighten our days!  The picture of the house was taken a week ago when it seemed all it did was rain or be cloudy, but it didn't matter because the bright colors made the atmosphere warm and cheery.  Isabella the cat loves the coolness and wants to sit on Bill's lap.  She follows him from room to room and purrs.  You can hear her little motor running from anywhere in the house!  Sweet William surprised me with the 2 pots of Mums he bought on a Lowe's trip.  He goes there for all his wood he uses to craft the items we make.  He does not feel well enough to drive all the time and I worry when he goes alone but I do not want him to lose all his independence.  We always joke that we have to go to Lowe's for our Wood "fix" as we love the smell of the pine, aspen and other woods.  We are looking forward to camping this weekend and are taking Isabella with us.  This will be her first time out so we shall see how she fairs.  Well, I hope -ha!  It seems odd to just chill out after months of scurrying to get ready for the craft show - ha!  I am glad that we only do the one a year.
