Two Happy is Too Sad today, but this too, shall pass! We are facing a lot of challenges in hubby's treatment for Multiple Myeloma this week. And last week-LOL! He became so anemic that he had to have 2 pints of blood transfused. Then when we saw the primary care doc, he referred him to a kidney specialist as his kidney function is diminishing. Kidney damage from chemo and cancer cannot be reversed. So he went back into chemo treatment today and will see the kidney doc on Thursday. Are we overwhelmed? Yes!!! have we lost faith, NO!!! God is so good and we have great faith.
Isabella is not upset about anything:
Isabella is our Ragdoll cat. She asks nothing of us but Love, Food and Water. In return, she gives Bill much love, my den room lots of fluffy hair and occasionally a hair ball-ha! Taking care of a pet is a commitment! You must be willing to clean up after and care for faithfully to their needs daily. But Isabella is a joy. She trusts us completely, loves to be brushed and thinks she is a puppy who wants her belly rubbed-ha! She is devoted to Bill and when he is not feeling well, she is particularly devoted and given permission to lay at his feet on the bed.
What are your pets if any, that ease your stress and pain? Or how do you cope with stress in your family situations? Of course we pray a lot (check out Kerrie's Home Journal at http://kerrieshomejournal.blogspot.com ) and we try hard to be pleasant to each other no matter what the situation. We call Isabella, "Old Blue Eyes" as some days her eyes are so large and full of the lightest blue color. Fortunately, we have this back yard alive with wildlife, God could not have given us a nicer blessing. Yesterday we had an Anhinga visit for about 4 hours! (see photos at http://kerrieskorner.blogspot.com ) Here is "Izzy" holding Bill's hand a while back.
And the swan babies are a joy, too! We never know what will come next to visit us in our little piece of Eden!

We were also blessed with a surprise visit from old friends from back home. We got to go out to lunch with them and it was so much fun to laugh and talk like the old days. We have much to be thankful for...

Like this Cardinal's nest after the young have flown. How clean it is!
After letting it rest on the back deck for a few days, I brought it in and put some pieces of beautiful speckled eggs that I found in past years and this year in it for display and I love the look. What a miracle that birds can weave such a cradle for their babes!
Another lovely sight and thought to meditate on, my hubby's finished lighthouse picture on the right. When I was young, I taught drawing and oil painting in our home Town of Auburn, NY at the YMCA and in my home. While my husband is a skilled craftsman in woodworking, he has never painted before. My painting is on the left as my method is to paint side by side. Our Model was a magazine photo and you can see his wonderful interpretation of this scene. I love it and will frame it so I can meditate on its warm uplifting colors and form whenever I want-ha! I love the rounded form of the rocks , the tide pool reflection and the hope that exudes from the lighthouse....Hubby will be 72 in August and in his 6th year into his battle with cancer Multiple Myeloma.
She will lay for hrs. on her back like this. Total trust in her safety and surroundings...Ahhh, to be able to relax like this!

Isabella was adopted by us 4 years ago. She was three at the time and came from an abusive home where the Mother cat would beat her up and did not want her near her new broods. She was all full of snarls and ear mites. She hid all the time for about the first 6 mos. Then gradually, she warmed up to us and now will sit in Bill's lap and loves to be brushed. She will even meow and lead you until you get the brush! She is gorgeous with bright blue eyes. Her coat has been trimmed for the summer as Ragdolls have a great abundance of long silky fur which unfortunately creates fur ball problems. But we love her very much and she is one of the family. She greets everyone at the door just like a dog would and also walks them to the door when they leave. She loves children and will sit right down among them and their activities. I am so glad I bought her and gave her this loving home. She gives us hours of pleasure and entertainment!
