I lost my love, He is with the Lord...

My sweet husband passed on January 26th at 5:15pm last Thursday.  I was right with him until the end and he held my hand right to the last.  He was so strong and did not want to give up but he died an agonizing death over a 12 hour period.
I gave in and had Hospice come in the last 3 days as I could no longer lift him, etc.  They were wonderful and I cannot say enough about them!  They did not take his care out of my care but were so supportive and provided all the necessary supplies that I needed to care for my wonderful husband.  He bonded with them also in such a short time and they wept when he passed.

Bill loved life so much and enjoyed all the simple pleasures, fishing, camping, woodworking, ad infinitum.  He was a very special person.  He has left a great legacy to our children and grandchildren of how to live an honorable Christian life.  All of our hearts are so heavy and my house is soooo empty.  But even in silence, the Lord and Bill are comforting me.  I am surrounded with their love.


Thanks to all of you who have followed his 7 yr. journey through Multiple Myeloma.  You will never know how much you helped me when I was sad and lonely, had a question, needed a verbal pat and hug, etc.  I am very grateful to all of you.

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...♫

Wanted to enjoy the Christmas spirit all month long so I am sharing Christmas all around our house...

It was different decorating this year as hubby was too weak to help decorate the tree which we always did together in the past.  I sure do miss the other "us" that used to be before Multiple Myeloma cancer changed our lives.  But we still find things to laugh at every day and my hubby is such a wonderful patient.  Here he is peeking through the door when I was taking pictures...

No matter what, Life is Good!

Two Happy is Too Sad today, but this too, shall pass!  We are facing a lot of challenges in hubby's treatment for Multiple Myeloma this week.  And last week-LOL!  He became so anemic that he had to have 2 pints of blood transfused.  Then when we saw the primary care doc, he referred him to a kidney specialist as his kidney function is diminishing.  Kidney damage from chemo and cancer cannot be reversed.  So he went back into chemo treatment today and will see the kidney doc on Thursday.  Are we overwhelmed? Yes!!! have we lost faith, NO!!!  God is so good and we have great faith.
  Isabella is not upset about anything:

Isabella is our Ragdoll cat.  She asks nothing of us but Love, Food and Water.  In return, she gives Bill much love, my den room lots of fluffy hair and occasionally a hair ball-ha!  Taking care of a pet is a commitment!  You must be willing to clean up after and care for faithfully to their needs daily.  But Isabella is a joy.  She trusts us completely, loves to be brushed and thinks she is a puppy who wants her belly rubbed-ha!  She is devoted to Bill and when he is not feeling well, she is particularly devoted and given permission to lay at his feet on the bed.

  What are your pets if any, that ease your stress and pain?  Or how do you cope with stress in your family situations?  Of course we pray a lot (check out Kerrie's Home Journal at http://kerrieshomejournal.blogspot.com ) and we try hard to be pleasant to each other no matter what the situation.  We call Isabella, "Old Blue Eyes" as some days her eyes are so large and full of the lightest blue color.

Fortunately, we have this back yard alive with wildlife, God could not have given us a nicer blessing.  Yesterday we had an Anhinga visit for about 4 hours! (see photos at http://kerrieskorner.blogspot.com )

And the swan babies are a joy, too!  We never know what will come next to visit us in our little piece of Eden!

We were also blessed with a surprise visit from old friends from back home.  We got to go out to lunch with them and it was so much fun to laugh and talk like the old days.  We have much to be thankful for...

Subject of Cursing and foul language

Good Tuesday Morn to you!  I want to share a site with you that I found very thought provoking.  A Boy and His God http://aboyandhisgod.blogspot.com/ The writer had visited my site and left a positive comment so I visited his site.  It was very good reading (Aug. 1 post) and as a Christian, I found it really helpful for all the questions that we have and the vernacular of today's youth as well as seniors.  We know two couples whom we are very fond of and their constant cursing is very offensive to us.  They both know this but it does not stop them from using foul language in front of us.  We also find it offensive when we see so much foul language on Face Book.  Why am I on there then?  I love keeping in contact with friends and family but in the process we get to see what they say to one another which is just short of X-rated at times.  It is most distressing to see what the young people are writing and that Face Book allows it!  I am sure their parents who are not on FB do not know what their sons and daughters are saying publicly.  Does any of this concern other grandparents and parents out there?? 
    Aside from that, all God's beauty is out there for all of us to enjoy and thank goodness for the Christian blogsites and friends who are uplifting and a reinforcement of our faith each day.  I would be interested to know how you feel.

Hubby celebrated his 71st Birthday on Saturday.  I thank God for every day with my sweet hubby.  Thank you for all of your prayers and concerns regarding his battle with Multiple Myeloma as I know that is what keeps us both going!
  No matter how tired he gets, he still walks a little every morning and works in the yard.  His cheerful smile is always there.

WEEK'S ARE FLYING BY!

I honestly don't know where the time goes!
My 50th H.S. reunion seemed so far off and now it is only a week from this Saturday!  I have had so much fun getting in contact with some other childhood friends that I found through "Class Mates" site on line.  I have this picture of our 2 Seward School 6th grade Graduation Classes and sent it to them.  No one has these pictures it seems so I am very glad I saved them!

Look at all these sweet innocent faces of 1954!  And everyone is dressed like a gentleman and lady--I love it!  Do we look ready for H.S.?  There was no such thing as Middle School in those days.  You went right from "grade" school to H. S.  But it was a good time in our lives.   No worrying about drugs and our wild youth were like Fonzie and Richie on Happy Days - Ha!  Those were certainly the good old days!
  So hopefully, if hubby feels well enough, we will embark on our adventure to our home town, visit our Son and family and siblings as well as friends.  Hubby will begin Chemo again the first week in August.  He has had 3 months off to rest his body but now needs to go back as his lab numbers for MM are up.  Life goes on, we take one day at a time.   Thanks to all who are so supportive and for praying.

HAPPY THURSDAY!     Above is one of my sketches I did awhile back from a photo in a magazine.  The likeness to my oldest grandchild was so startling when I saw it that I had to make the sketch!  It was in an advertisement for something I have forgotten.  My granddaughter is in her 2nd year of college now but at that younger age, she resembled this sketch very much.
    Today we had My hubby Bill's check up at the cancer center.  The update is on http://caringbridge.org/visit/billmarquart  We have had this site for the whole time Bill has had cancer.  It is a free site offered to help keep your loved ones and friends informed of an ongoing serious illness or temporary serious condition such as surgery. They provide this wonderful site free of charge so please support them if you are able. Anyhow, he starts the Velcade chemotherapy again in November.  Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that they give the patient breaks from therapy to boost their spirits and resume treatment when the laboratory numbers change.  Bill is doing very, very well because of his wonderful attitude despite a terminal and debilitating disease.  We counseled another couple today and it was so very rewarding. Bill had them laughing, so like him!
