Easter Expressions

I love Pooky's Grandma!  I created her in the 70's while working at my hometown newspaper.  She is fashioned somewhat after my own Mom with a little more plumpness added in-ha!  And also after my Grandma Rachael. Mom always wore dresses and always carried her hand bag wherever she went.  She loved dressing up and did not wear anything as outlandish as Pooky's grandma but did wear hats and heels.  Pooky's grandma is hep, up with the times and very opinionated.  She expresses for me what I dare not express myself-ha!  I love creating and some sister bloggers have admired my artwork on my Kerrie's Korner site and also on Kerrie's Krafts 3. (links in sidebar) and said they may dare to try it themselves.  Well for all of you out there who wish to, don't be afraid!  Your artwork may be primitive or it may be perfect, the most important thing is that it is "you"!  You may crochet, paint, draw, carve, mold, craft, etc, etc.  It does not matter in which venue you express yourself as long as you do it!  I take pictures of my artwork with my little Sony digital camera and it works well for me.  I would love for you to share your artwork or craft work.  I will share it with others if you tell me you are participating and give me your blog site address.  I will post the participants on Wednesday, April 7th and call it "Budding Bloggers Day."  If I get more than a few entries, I will continue it each week.  Whether it be jewelry, artwork, clay, wood, photographs, etc.  All orginal art pieces are welcome.  Looking forward to seeing your work!!  Thank you,  Kerrie

HAPPY THURSDAY!     Above is one of my sketches I did awhile back from a photo in a magazine.  The likeness to my oldest grandchild was so startling when I saw it that I had to make the sketch!  It was in an advertisement for something I have forgotten.  My granddaughter is in her 2nd year of college now but at that younger age, she resembled this sketch very much.
    Today we had My hubby Bill's check up at the cancer center.  The update is on http://caringbridge.org/visit/billmarquart  We have had this site for the whole time Bill has had cancer.  It is a free site offered to help keep your loved ones and friends informed of an ongoing serious illness or temporary serious condition such as surgery. They provide this wonderful site free of charge so please support them if you are able. Anyhow, he starts the Velcade chemotherapy again in November.  Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that they give the patient breaks from therapy to boost their spirits and resume treatment when the laboratory numbers change.  Bill is doing very, very well because of his wonderful attitude despite a terminal and debilitating disease.  We counseled another couple today and it was so very rewarding. Bill had them laughing, so like him!

Who took my days?!

Where did Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning go??  We have been so busy in the Bill and Kerrie workshop that we don't know what day it is!  We are getting ready for the Craft Show On October 17th and as you can see, our hands are never idle.  Bill has been cutting out the wood in designs that I have created in Intarsia or scroll saw as well as some ornament patterns that are from a scrolling magazine.  The mini-pin is from a picture of our Tucker,  who lives with Bill's sister now.  He was a pistol and much too much for us to handle for walking, etc.  Our shoulders hurt from his pulling.  He is very strong!!  The little witches are sketches I made years ago and Bill cuts the shape out of wood and then I will paint on them.  The Intarsia Fisherman is one or our original designs and he has a parrot on his shoulder.  Bill's counter space and my tray table in the den is a work in progress at any given time - ha!  Neatness is non-existant and non-productive.  But you should see my computer desk!  It has tons of paper on it for blogging, writing my autobiography, reference books and lots of NOTES-ha!  I will post finished pictures of the wood crafts soon.
