All around the yard again....

The Azalea bushes are at peak and you can see them looking across everyone's backyard!

The reflection of the Azaleas across the lake is just gorgeous to see every morning when I raise my blinds in the den!

My Beautiful cement leaf that Bill made for me a few years ago, by pressing Elephant Ear leaves into the mix.  I love it.  I have several.

Dandelions are a definite sign of spring, don't ya think?  Although, I have seen one or two pop up through the winter months, too.

 Dogwood tree in blossom.  And my front door with the Easter Bonnet I made for Spring...

I love looking down the length of the little lake. 2 swans are at the very end of the water in background.

The shamrocks are growing and blossoming everywhere!  I never realized how easy they are to grow and the are perennial.

The nuthatch couple made it to the little birdhouse this year before the Bluebirds.  I feel sorry for them as they had to fight to keep their squatter's rights!  And the squirrel keeps badgering them, too.  But I am glad they persevered and are in residence!

 

 I love my pedestal planter in front of the house under the double windows.  The Vinca vine is prolific and comes up all year.  I love the Blue blossoms!  I added a Petunia plant and Marigold to the mix.

My side yard on the North has a lovely view of the Wisteria vine and Azalea bush across the water.

SPRING IN MY CORNER OF THE WORLD

I love walking around the yard when the grass is beginning to turn green, the Azalea bushes are blossoming and the birds are nesting... 

A lovely bench on which to meditate and survey my kingdom... 

And watching the beautiful Great Egret that comes to fish every day.  Life is good....

Today the Nuthatch couple is settled in and protecting their house from the squirrel who seems to be bent on menacing them today.  The Nuthatch both kept a swaying motion in unison looking at the squirrel, perhaps a warning to keep him away as he left after awhile.

Mama squirrel is a rascal alright!  The Azalea bushes are blooming more and more every day.  I wish they could last forever...

Spring keeps bloomin"

It is such a beautiful time of year, just loving it!  Azaleas are just about done blossoming and the Wisteria bush across the lake is shedding a lavender carpet underneath it's umbrella shape...

I need to buy some Perennials now and fill in the little flower beds.  I saved some pumpkin seeds and planted them in back of the shed and what the squirrels didn't eat, are springing up now and I have put a little fence around them.  I love watching things grow...

In the Pink

I came home from the trip to Auburn, NY to all the Azaleas in bloom in the neighborhood (Garden City, SC).  Just in time for PINK SATURDAY sponsored by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.  Be sure to stop over and see all the the Pink Saturday offerings on her site, such fun to see what others come up with in pink.



They are all so beautiful.  I also have white, coral and red Azaleas and some are miniature.

The trip to New York State for the Memorial Service for Bill went very well.  The service was beautiful and there was much participation from family members in Scripture reading, tributes and I read the poem I wrote without crying.  God is so good.  The minister and all of the ladies at our hometown church were wonderful and put on a luncheon following the morning service for all who attended.  It gave friends and family there who could not make it to the service here, closure.  It was good for all of us.  I was happy to be back at home and some normalcy back to my life.  I cut the grass today.  Had my doc appt. yesterday and he thinks I am doing well and I have not lost more weight so that is good.  Missing my honey very much but comforted that the thumbprint pendant that I ordered had come in and I am now wearing it!!  That was a nice surprise as I was told it would take 6 weeks but it came in 2!

I need to buy a chain but I am using one I had for now.  It is Sterling silver and so beautiful.  It is dimensional so that I can actually feel the swirl of the print :)  I am so glad I discovered the booklet that told about these wonderful mementos at the Funeral Home.  If anyone is interested, the site is: www.meadowhillco.com

Azalea and Dogwood

OUR LITTLE bit of heaven in our own back yard!!  The Azaleas are coming out more every day and are so beautiful.  I took these pictures yesterday when the sun was out.  It has been raining all day today here...

The miniatures light up the whole back yard, they are so sweet, little and perfect....

And these red blossoms are so vivid against the green leaves and the whites next to them.

Great combo, huh?  I love spring!!

 I love our multi trunk trees....

THIS IS A DOGWOOD that has more blossoms this year than in the last 6 yrs. we have been here!  They are smaller, more delicate than the larger Dogwood blossoms, but beautiful. The tree is on the border of the side yard between us and the neighbor's house.

The detail is so interesting with these clusters of green in the center of the blossoms.
