Spring is really here!

Ahhh!  Spring is really here!  Fluctuating temps from 70's to 37 and back up, Rain and Sun but Everything is greening up and my sun porch is warm enough to put my plants out again!  They have been wintering in an upstairs bedroom window .  I took the photos before they moved to the porch-ha!

This is a Lucky Bamboo Plant that was given to me after Bill's passing and I have had good luck with keeping this one so far.

This is a Christmas Cactus with others in the background.

This is a crown of Thorns plant that my Mom started for me many years ago.  It is over 3 feet tall now and has beautiful Red clusters of flowers.  It is said to be the thorns twisted into the crown of Jesus and the red blossoms are the drops of blood.  It has been wintering in my kitchen and not blossoming prolifically due to lack of sunshine.

This is a beautiful multiple planter that I received from my oldest daughter for my birthday in March.

This is another planter that was sent to me at Bill's passing by my Brother and his wife.  It has really grown.
This is my favorite plant and will be 55 yrs. old this fall!!  it is a Tai plant from Hawaii that my husband bought for me at the NYS Fair when we were dating.  It was only a waxed little log when he bought it and it has flourished through the years despite being broken off several times when the kids were little.  It always comes back strong and survived moving back to my home town after a week in a moving POD in the heat!
These are my violets that I started from leaves after buying the first one.

I am thrilled to find wild violets in my yard here, Snow drops, Tulips and Tiger Lilies!  I love plants and flowers, can you tell? Ha!  Right now it is snowing out but I know it will not last....famous last words!

Thanks for visiting today and come again soon.  Pls leave
comments as I treasure them!

WAITING FOR SPRING...

I sadly do not know who the author of this poem is but the photo and following poem was posted on my face book page this morning and as a poet and lover of poetry, I had to share.  This was very meaningful to me and comforting...

I'm Standing Next To You

You can't see me or touch me
but I'm standing next to you.
It's sad to see you cry for me
I wish you only knew.

I'm standing next to you.
Even though you think I'm gone,
I've really never left your side
I've been here all along.

So please be brave and dry the tears,
don't let your grief show through.
I love you from a different place,
and I'm standing right next to you

(If anyone knows the author, please comment to me :) )

The photo makes me want to paint and the poem inspires

me to put pen to page....

Have a most wonderful day and share this lovely poem if

you are also touched by the words.

Spring keeps bloomin"

It is such a beautiful time of year, just loving it!  Azaleas are just about done blossoming and the Wisteria bush across the lake is shedding a lavender carpet underneath it's umbrella shape...

I need to buy some Perennials now and fill in the little flower beds.  I saved some pumpkin seeds and planted them in back of the shed and what the squirrels didn't eat, are springing up now and I have put a little fence around them.  I love watching things grow...
For a Palm Sunday message, please go to my Christian Blog, Kerrie's Home Journal.  I am small dog sitting for 2 grand dogs for my daughter.  So I have company for the rest of the weekend :)
  Have a lovely Palm Sunday!

My heart to yours....

All Around the Yard...

So while much of the country is snowing and blowing, we are having 72 Sunny degrees with a mild breeze...
A walk around the yard brightens the day even though the grass is still brown and there is not much color except for the brilliant blue of the sky.
Our Bass Shaped Chimanea awaits an evening fire when the air cools but you still don't want to go into the house...
The cement bunnies are laying in the sun...
And this cement leaf with the frog in the shadow of the bike shed was made by Bill.
The Gecko Windchimes, a gift from my daughter, hangs in there waiting for real spring...
And cement Teddy on his little bench relaxes in front of the work shed.
And in keeping with my forever dream of living back on the farm of our youth, I have this pretty hen on her perch on the back deck.  I repaint her every year as she fades with the weather and sun.

So all in all, I very nice day indeed!  If you would like to see Silver Moss, Livid Entoloma Mushrooms and Camelia bushes, please pop over to Kerrie's Korner, SC blog, see you there!

And here is sweet Kitty who has been patched many times, taking his nap...

Thank you for visiting and I do hope you will come again soon!
