ELEPHANT IN INTARSIA

This is my husband's latest Intarsia project, a beautiful elephant head whose every feature and wrinkle is cut out and put back together like a puzzle. Intarsia originated in Italy and is closely related to mosaic work. Bill has completed the mounting on a backer board and now will paint it in different shades of grey. I will post the finished picture very soon. There are many patterns for woodworking to be had and Fox Chapel Publishers are the best by far. IF Bill sells his work, prices vary with the degree of difficulty in his pieces. We also make our own patterns. Please e-mail if you would like to see more of his work. Credit for this pattern goes to Susan Mathis of California and was featured in ScrollSaw Summer magazine, issue 35.
