Warmth of a kitchen...

My Kitchen has always been the heart warming part of my home.  I love cooking when family or friends are here, listening to their conversation and laughter as I prepare food.  When I moved from the north to South Carolina, I was anxious to Southernize my home.  I bought this sweet little towel 22 yrs. ago and still have and use it.

Yellow squash and Zucchini sauteed for supper last night and my homey little towel in use.

When not in use, I hang it sometimes on the oven door, just so I can see it whenever I come into the room.


When the leaves began to turn and cooler nights came and were welcome, I bought this little throw rug for my sink standing with apples on it.  I love apples!

And of course I had to pick a few little yellow Mums and Zinnia to brighten the counter.

And I spruced up my handmade gored fabric pumpkins with gold wire ribbon in a leaf print.  My Daughter and her Fiancee came over to visit last evening and she told me how pretty the table looked.  Ahhh, warm fuzzies☺

FRIDAY FABRIC DAY

NOTHING LIKE A BIT OF FABRIC, some ribbon roses, and purple ribbon to brighten a winter day!!  I have been wanting to trim some towels with fabric for ages now and today bought some really pretty fat quarters at Wal-mart for only 1.00 each!  They are 100% cotton and so cheery!  I found a pair of white thirsty kitchen towels for only 3.00 a pair and the lovely purple ribbon for 47 cents!  I will show you the finished product in a few days but these are the combinations I am thinking about  below.  I love hand sewing so may do it all by hand with quilting thread.  It was sunny today here in Garden City SC but still very chilly and I feel like I am in the middle of the winter doldrums with January only half over!  But handwork keeps me satisfied and happy.  Creating is so rewarding.  Have a nice week end and pray for all the people who need the Lord in Haiti and all over the world. JUST ANOTHER FABRIC PUMPKIN

I HAD TO MAKE JUST ONE MORE FABRIC PUMPKIN!  This one is made with a wider gore pattern, 6 in all.  I used scraps of Flannel Fabric, Rafia and Gold Wire Ribbon.  The pattern had tails for the Stem and on the bottom to gather in the gores. I added an orange Buttom on the bottom and that helped to balance it.  Very simple but it makes a pretty accent in any room.  Thank you for visiting my 3 blogs and don't forget to enter and comment for the Give-A-Way that I posted on this site October 22nd.  I already have a dozen entries and hope to get more before the drawing on November 8th!
