Blue Birds in Summer

I NEVER SEE A BLUEBIRD ON THE WING
THAT DOESN'T MAKE THIS OLD HEART SING! Kerrie

I do not know how many clutches Blue Birds have but this pair was looking at 2 of the 4 Blue Bird houses that we have in the yard.  He coaxes her to look at one or the other and she ignores him pretty much, like "You expect me to live where?" Ha!  It is always a ritual.  He is so rich in color and she is so drab in comparison.  I just love watching them.
Don't forget that it is Pink Saturday at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound.  I did not have a Pinkie today but there are many others who did and it is so much fun visiting them!  And if you have time, the Wood Storks returned to our little lake behind the house and you can see them at Kerrie's Korner, SC.  Thanks for coming as always and come again soon.  Your comments are cherished!

Finding a Blue Bird of Happiness

THE BLUE BIRDS HAVE RETURNED AND ARE LOOKING FOR THAT JUST RIGHT BIRDHOUSE TO RAISE THIS YEAR'S NESTLINGS IN.

Scoping it out from the branch above, the male looks for his mate who is too quick for me to take her picture as she scurries from feeder to feeder.

This looks pretty good, nice roof, free rent....
Okay, just like a woman, which way did she go, I want her to see this one before somebody else beats us to it!!
Ahhh, ya just gotta love Spring!! What's not to like??  Thanks so much for coming by today, we love having you!  It is Sunny and chilly in SC this morning.  Beautiful!  To hear and see a beautiful rendition of Joyce Kilmer's Trees, visit our Christian blog at Kerrie's Home Journal today.

I CAN FEED MYSELF!

Here I am, a bright young teen and I have learned to feed myself. Mama and Papa Bluebird are tending to my new brothers and sisters but I fly free now! Remember the old song, A Bluebird of Happiness? We have found a lot of happiness these last 2 yrs. since the Blue Birds have graced our back yard. What a blessing. My old friend Esther and I share our affinity for Bluebirds. Esther recycles all of her greeting cards creating new ones. I am the proud recipient of many of her creations and I treasure the Blue Bird cards. Esther says she is not crafty but she does calligraphy and made a beautiful framed rendering of my most favorite Bible verse from Isaiah 40:31
They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength ~
They shall mount up with wings like eagles ~
They shall run and not be weary ~
They shall walk and not grow faint.
And the hymn says, "Teach me Lord, Teach me Lord to wait." Thank you Esther, my sweet Octogenarian.
