The vivid pink blossoms are the blood drops. It is a most unusual plant in that more blossoms are born coming from the center of the last. I know no other plant that does this. In this picture you can see the 2 new buds emerging from the center of the blossoms.

This is amazing. I've never seen a red wasp and not such a plant either (I don't think.) That blossom looks almost artificial...it's so perfect! Tell your hubby he did a great job with the setting. I've yet to venture into learning that about my digital and take time to read my owner's manual. After 2 years of ownership you'd think it's about time ;-)
