13 Inch Cucumber

This is too funny!  I have square foot gardening behind our little shed and there are banana peppers and a cucumber vine as well as red onions and potatoes.  The cucumber vine has only produced little finger size cucumbers~ EXCEPT for this one that is 13 inches long and still growing!!

This is a hoot!  Only the top part has smoothed out and the rest still looks like a dill pickle!  I love watching things grow.  We have had banana pepper and tomato sandwiches which were delicious!  Hubby took pictures of my African Violets and the one Gladiola stalk he picked for me.

I love all flowers so much inside or out!  I never had a green thumb for African Violets until I moved to SC 21 yrs. ago!  The windows are just the right exposure for sunlight that they love and they never stop blooming!  I have 3 and they are all the same color of deep lavender with one plant being accented with white.  My Mom could grown ANYTHING!  And she had violets in the house always.  She would be proud of my violets-ha!
Please visit my other blogs for bird pictures and a wonderful fabric flower I made today.  Thanks for coming and come again soon.  HUGS,

Kerrie

Oh wow, what a cucumber. It looks so good! Your violets are so lovely. I once tried to grow them in my kitchen, but didn't have much luck.

Oh, I love cucumbers and tomatoes...mine will probably never produce. The seedlings are still only 2-3" high...and now it's too hot. I think they're tired ;-)
