SKY WATCHING.....

SO SORRY FOR ALL THE TORNADOS AND STORMS GOING ON IN THE COUNTRY!  I hope that we never see one but they also pass through SC and I think no state is safe from the forces of nature.
But today I am celebrating all the BEAUTIFUL skies that we have seen in the last week.
This is the sky we saw on our first night of camping last Tuesday in Mt. Pleasant SC.  It was raining and trying to clear and we find beauty in that, also.

The blue contrast as the clouds broke up was so vivid and welcome!

And this was the sky in our own backyard after a beautiful day over the weekend. I really like the jet stream catching the rays.

Each evening I hate to see the sun fade, I hate giving up the beautiful day yet I treasure the spectrum of the sunset....

"Day is done, gone the sun
From the land, from the sea, from the sky,
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh."   ♫Taps

No two sunsets are ever alike so I have to run outside and snap as many pictures as I can.  I am easily entertained-ha!  My Friend at Katney's Kaboodle has a feature called "Sky Watch" on her blog and I love visiting there to see the variations in sky pictures.  Do visit Katney's Kaboodle and also check out her "ODD SHOTS".  She is a wonderful lady who travels a lot and takes the most wonderful pictures of our country!
Thanks for visiting and please leave a comment!  Come again soon.

Awwww, I miss those old cartoons. I loved Tom and Jerry...yes, I agree, the sky is an entertaining place to explore. When I lived in Southern California (for 30 years) I was blessed with blue and pink skies almost every day because I saw sunrises as well as sunsets every day since I lived near the beach.

I went camping a lot and I've always admired looking at the stars hanging so low in the evening sky, you'd think you can just reach up to touch them...beautiful, just beautiful! Thanks for sharing :-)

Hi Kerrie and thank you so much for visiting me today!
Oh, I know, the weather has been so frightening around the land these past few months.
Those are some lovely photos and I have to say I'm grinning. I grew up watching Tom & Jerry!
Come back again sometimes for another visit.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Kerrie, SkyWatch is a meme that has been around longer than I have been blogging. It is about to celebrate its fifth birthday. You can find the SkyWatchers (there are usually around 300 participants each week) at their site.

Instead of Odd Shots, lately I've been posting Geometry Monday--looking for shapes in our surroundings. I don't know how long that will last, but we'll see.

Watching for something to include in the blog, IMO, makes me more observant. It is good to look around, and the lens encourages it.

Thanks for referring folks over my way.
