Sweet Ducklings

I usually post animal and bird pictures on Kerrie's Korner but these little ducklings are so precious, I am sharing them here.
Mama and her 7 ducklings came this morning for breakfast.  The little ones move so fast that I can scarcely catch them with the camera!  They are so fluffy and dear.  There were 8 but now only 7 and we are guessing that the one was caught by the turtles in the lake.  One if the 7 has a bad leg and we also think he got that from a turtle attack.  But he is able to get around just as fast as the siblings despite the bad leg.  It is amazing how nature adjusts to any situation.  He is healthy and we are hoping he will make it to adulthood.  We have not seen any Canadian geese babies as yet but I am sure we will.  They breed here every year as well as the swans.  What a joy!
Thank you for visiting and jump over to http://kerrieskrafts3.blogspot.com/ to see the lovely little paper slippers I made today.  I obtained the template from another blog for free-THANK YOU!-and just love the way they came out embellished with ribbon, buttons, roses.  A very fun project!

How sweet. Those turtles must be a pretty good size to get a baby duck. What about racoons? I think I heard one time that they get some of the baby alligators here, so I think they could get a baby duck too. I know that's part of nature, but I hate it.

They are just too adorable. I love them! I wish I could hold one, don't you, Kerrie? Mama duck looks so proud!

Oh man -- you're so lucky to have the little babies around! Our duck couple never produces a family -- they wander around the neighborhood ditches for several weeks and then they disappear until next year. And ACK! Do turtles really eat the babies? That's awful!

What sweet little duckings! We saw our neighborhood Mallard duck today at the end of the block. The duck couple ( and later their babies) wander up and down the block, sitting in everyone's front yard. We have come to think of them as our resident ducks. We also have a fox family, so they need to be careful!

What sweet little babies! So sad about the eighth one. I hope the rest survive. Thank you so much for your visit. I saw the paper shoes. They are wonderful.

Would love to know who your blogging niece is.

Hello! I have not been by in quite a while. Loved the photo and post on the ducks! I didn't read about Cindy's do - but sure do like it. I enjoyed your post on doodling ... my doodles ultimately look like something but they are not drawings by any stretch of the imagination. I doodle constantly - when I attended work conferences, meetings, I doodled - it kept me focused. And, I had forgotten about the "Palmer Method of handwriting" - enjoyed remembering that ... and your post on handwritten letters. Do you suppose our photos and posts will one day seem the same? I thoroughly enjoyed your sentiments about your mom's notes ... her cards and how you remember her. HOpe I won't be so long in coming to visit again! Take care. Jenn
