Sharing Christmas Poetry

I LOVE WRITING POETRY TO EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS AND I HAVE A LIFETIME OF POEMS THAT I HAVE WRITTEN WHENEVER INSPIRED BY JOY, GRIEF, HOLIDAYS, BIRTHS, DEATHS, AD INFINITUM.  So I hope you will indulge me to share more of my writings that are hopefully to be a published collection at some point in time.

         CHRISTMAS, GOD'S SON'S BIRTHDAY
                    ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart
Round and Round the evergreen boughs
The lights and berries twine
The wonderful aroma of pine needles
Warming by the fire.

The beautiful angel and the ornaments all around
The caroling, what a joyful sound
Praising Christ's birth aloud!

The tree is trimmed,
The tree comes down
Christmas begins and ends with the tree
But Jesus lives on and on.....

A LITTLE GIFT BENEATH THE TREE

Underneath the Christmas tree
Lies a tiny present to you from me
It didn't cost a lot, you know,
But in my heart it began to grow.
An idea of what to give to you
And it occurred to me that you would hold it dear
If I just wrote down the love for you I bear...
Merry Christmas, I love you and Happy New Year!

That's lovely - I had a poetry contest last summer. I wish I would have known you then ;-)

Maybe I'll have one again! You're very talented, Kerri!
