Red Wasp

Hubby has found how to use the Micro setting on his digital camera and was able to take this wonderful picture of the Red Wasp on my Crown of Thorns Plant.  My Mom gave me a small cutting she rooted more than 20 yrs. ago and from the tiny cutting, I now have a 3 1/2 foot plant in a pot.  I keep it out of doors in the summer until late fall when we begin to get frosty nights.  I have to bring it into the house on my husbands dolly as it is too heavy to carry.  I love this plant not only for it's beauty but because it came from my Mom and represents the crown of thorns worn by Jesus.
The vivid pink blossoms are the blood drops.  It is a most unusual plant in that more blossoms are born coming from the center of the last.  I know no other plant that does this.
In this picture you can see the 2 new buds emerging from the center of the blossoms.
God and Nature are so wonderful!

Have a wonderful day!  To see a Monster Cucumber, please go to my Kerrie's Korner SC blog at http://kerrieskorner.blogspot.com/ ~ Thanks!
