IRISH ROOTS AND MUSIC...

My Father had Irish Roots and this is his Father in the 1800's.  My Father was born in 1907
And below is a picture of his father and my Dad was 17...

And while I don't know the ages of them in the next picture, you can tell that they are older yet again...

I do not have a good picture of my Father's Mother when she was young but this is she when she was older with my brother and two sisters before another brother and myself were born.
Last but not least is a photo of my Dad and Mom in the 50's at one of my sister's wedding.  Mama wasn't Irish, but we never held it against her-HA!
I love remembering my Irish family roots especially on St. Patrick's day coming up soon.  And remembering all the Irish songs my Dad taught to all of us when we were growing up as the 5 little O'Hearn's.  He taught us the love of Irish music and stories and we miss that he can no longer tell us about the old families of his past.  Sure wish I asked more questions when he was alive.  I have these photos thanks to my brother who writes "O'Hearn's Histories", a monthly paper back in our hometown of Auburn, New York.  Here is the link: www.ohearnshistories.com

Thank you for visiting today and sharing my Irish memories, do come again soon!  And "May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead!" Old Irish saying.

Me Irish Heart to yours...

I loved looking at your pictures! Isn't it true that the older generation tell the same stories over and over again and we get so bored of hearing them. But there's a REASON for that. To burn it into our heads for the following generations! I so much wish I had written down so many of those stories, names, and dates.

What an interesting post Kerrie and such a treasury of old photos. The photo of your parents is absolutely lovely. I've been seeing some cute photos of blog friends' grandchildren dressed in St. Patrick's Day clothing - so cute! God bless you both today.

Dear Kerrie, how beautiful these family pictures are. There are some profound emotions when one is taking some looks to our ancestors.
Much love to you my dear
