HARVEST MOON WITH JUPITER

We saw the Harvest Moon last night and Jupter in the sky underneath last night.  The moon had a halo around it.  Of course the pictures are from afar but still were beautiful.
It was quite surprising how much of the moon's craters that I could see with just our Binoculars!  Bill's larger telescope was not as clear as there were a lot of particles between us and the moon and hence the halo effect, too.  The halo is a phenomenum however and occurs several times during the year.

Autumn is my all time favorite of the year even more so than Spring!  I think the crisper cooler nights are rejuvenating and the colors are so vibrant in nature.  I also love to rake leaves-ha!

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  And don't forget to stop over at Kerrie's Korner SC for more nature pictures from our back yard!

I never got into raking leaves, probably because I'm such a tender hand that I get blisters...besides, I'd much rather just walk in them and rustle and play and make a mess LOL

I saw the same moon yesterday and tonight (with Jupitor) go figure! whilst walking my boy in the evenings. I didn't have my camera yesterday, but today I did and I think I got a few good ones, in spite of me not having a very good one for that type of photography. I could see all the craters too and every time I do, I remember the story of the "man in the moon" - remember that one? When I was a little girl in Germany, I'd borrow my Opa's binoculars and gaze at the moon and I could actually make out the man in the moon carrying his bundle of wood...those were the days! Lovely moon - I'll go out again tomorrow night. I love watching the moonrise ;-) It's magnificent coming slowly over the tree tops in all his glory! WOW!

I saw that moon too, but did not know it was Jupiter underneath. Isn't the sky amazing?
